Tony Johnston serves as Chief Operating Officer for Associated Urologists of North Carolina where he oversees practice operations. With over 30 years of experience in healthcare and 20 years in leadership roles, Tony brings a deep operational acumen and a passion for driving innovation in care delivery.

Prior to joining Solaris Health, Johnston held key leadership positions at Orlando Health and AdventHealth, where he led operational improvements across service lines including Urology, Orthopedics, and Neurosciences. His career began in the United States Air Force, where he served proudly as an emergency medical technician — an experience that grounded his lifelong commitment to patient care and service.

Johnston has a proven track record of improving access to care, optimizing patient throughput, and leading high-performing teams. He is especially passionate about solving complex operational challenges and developing scalable solutions that improve both provider performance and the patient experience.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University and a Certificate in Practice Management from the University of Florida.

Outside of work, Johnston enjoys hiking throughout the North Carolina Triangle region with his wife, two daughters, and their dogs.
