Van Hendry, MHSA

Van Hendry is a native of Pittsburgh and received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania. He received his master’s in health services administration from The George Washington University.
Hendry started his career in two hospital systems in the northeast. He then entered long-term care operations and ran nursing homes and assisted living facilities for 14 years. After his time in long-term care, Hendry worked for the Inova Health System in Northern Virginia for four years in outpatient operations, marketing, and business development.
Hendry and his family moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 2004 and he transitioned into physician practice management. He spent five years running an independent urology practice and then for the past nine years as the head of an independent cardiology practice.
Hendry is the son of a physician, husband of a nurse and has been immersed in healthcare most of his career. He lives in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and has two grown children. Van’s hobbies include travel, reading and enjoying the outdoors.
